#1. I have a ford skid steer 340. When moving forward it jumps up a down. Like . IMHO, the 743 is notorious for bucking and operator if he doesn't operate it . I have a 330 Owatonna Mustang, it just starting "bucking, jerking, jumping" . Has anyone else had a bolt break for the engine mount or simply fall out? This will hopefully help someone in the future who may have these symptoms of severe bucking, jerking and surging at any speed while all other functions are working. thanks to those who offered help with me on this nightmare.

6. Jan 12, 2013. #2. I just picked up a case 1816 off ebay. The bucket is smooth but the drive hydraulics are jumpy when turning left. It bucks pretty bad, enough to not be safe. When I looked at the boxes the controls are connected too. One will move side to side but theres a spring in between them. So is this supposed to have play in it?

#1. Just picked up a t190. It had some creep and the steering was super jumpy and jerky so I adjusted the neutral. The little roller cams looked fine, it appeared the blocks had already been flipped around but the 1 side wasn't bad at all so I switched them and got the neutral set perfect with no real trouble. #1. I just picked up a case 1816 off ebay. The bucket is smooth but the drive hydraulics are jumpy when turning left. It bucks pretty bad, enough to not be safe. When I looked at the boxes the controls are connected too. One will move side to side but theres a spring in between them. So is this supposed to have play in it? Is there something wrong with my machine or does the LS185b just turn better because it is a newer design? The pressure in the tires of my machine is 60 psi.

My understanding is that this bucking can be caused by loose control linkage or worn out control shock absorbers. I purchased a service manual for the machine and while it shows the linkage very clearly, it doesn't describe any testing procedures for these components. IMHO, the 743 is notorious for bucking and operator if he doesn't operate it properly, more so than the later model Bobcats. Once it starts bucking, next thing you know you'd think you're riding a basketball.
