I think a tractor with an air/heat cab and bat-wing mower is the ticket. It will be 5 times faster and a better ride than a skid steer. Add a floating seat and stereo and you can mow all day. Joe
Does anyone use a skid steer for mowing? I really wanted a Bobcat Toolcat, but I just dont have the money after upgrading my small tractor and buying manure spreader. I think I can get a cab skid steer with A/C for 10-15 K. The only experience I have is using a skid with a Brushcat. It's an impressive attachment and I have mowed many an acre with it. From my experience it performs well with typical overgrowth - grass, saplings, etc but doesn't do well with thick tall grass as it tends to bog down and knock the grass down instead of cutting it.
I would tilt the pushmower up and come down on the tall grass. Basically run the muchers the same way on large stuff. The fecon we run has 50" cutting width but the whole attachment is as wide as the tracked skidsteer. Wanted to get thoughts on websites for skid steer attachments.
