I think you need to charge the rental fee of a skid steer plus the labor it takes to operate one. So I would say 0 upfront and - an hour even if you own the skid steer. If you are an ace w/ a bobcat(not me) then I would charge near 0. If you can't charge the customer for the "rental fee" then you aren't making enough to take the job . I would look at the Takeuchi/Gehl/Mustang tracked units. I have a friend that has one and the cabs are huge. Gehl and Mustang brand the Takeuchi so I don't think their skid steer cabs are as large. The only drawback that I've heard about is the short track life. My friend has been through a couple sets of tracks in a little over 1400 hours. Pay to run a skid steer depends on how much experience you can price you have running one. /hr would be a guy who’s good at it and makes decent production rates. If you call the guy and ask how to turn it on Where’s the button to release the parking brake and where does fuel go? /hr I own both a tractor and a skid steer. I agree that you will not get a decent job with the skid steer if you have little to no experience. A tractor with a loader and box blade or York rake will work better for anyone except an experienced skid steer operator. 200 yards seems like an awful lot of dirt for 27000 sf That's approx. 12 tandem loads.
