I have a mid-to-late 70’s Mustang Skid Steer, Model 330, with its original MHC .Find hydraulic pumps, motors, seal kits, bearings, and other parts for Mustang skid steer . Kubota BX2380/LA344 loader/60" MMM, Bobcat S185 skid steer, JD X394 4 wheel steer mower SS, don't ever leave TBN. I'll have my Bobcat S185 soon and you're a skidsteer guru! :thumbsup:
go to jdparts.com and look for the 70 skid steer. That will give you parts diagrams. OMC parts are available through mustang and gehl dealers and im sure for that model JD as well. They aren't too bad of a machine to work on. There was a shop i drove past in Lena, illinois that was filled with old OMC skid steers. I just bought a 920 mustang skid steer. the t handle is for the drive, forward is forward back is back, turn the t handle it turns, like a steering wheel. left pedal is for arm and right is for bucket. I would change the engine oil at least, clean out the fuel system (fresh diesel). put a new battery in it and see what happens. mustang skid steer info\opinion I'm looking at a 1992 mustang SS model 330 gas, 500 hrs. I have a Mustang Owatonna 345 skid steer that I believe was built between 1978 and 1982. It's powered by a Duetz 2 cylinder air-cooled diesel engine and was running fine except it was using A LOT OF OIL. If I ran it 3 or 4 hours, I'd have to stop and put a gallon of oil in it. OMC (Owatonna Manufacturing Co.) built skid-loaders for a number of years for john Deere. If your 440 has 2 steering levers (left & right) then it is clutch controlled with variable speed belt driven, exactly the same as a JD24. If your 440 has single lever T bar control it is hydrostatic drive and is same as a JD24A with exception of the engine.
