Just picked up a Ramrod 900 mini skid to help with my summer decks and yards. Thought I would put it to work this winter with some plowing. What do I need to know about using a skid steer on concrete (sidewalks and driveways) Only have a bucket right now but considering a blade if I can find a used one. im thinking the broom will be better than the blower because we keep up with the walks and would only be clearing about 3" of snow we use small padle blowers but im looking for more coverage and speed. i got a quote for a 48" broom with poly bristles for 00.00 with manual angle. i found one used (75 miles away) for 2400.00
plows on trucks are a JOKE around here. a skid steer wiht snow bucket is minimal, which is what I'm running. big boys use loaders. this si for residential. we've got 4 feet on the flats right now, and season isn't half over. shoudl be a good year. for trailering a skid, a few hints. LOTS AND LOTS of tongue weight gives more traction for the truck. Machine is in great working condition. Low Hours on New Honda GXV530 engine. Rubber Tracks. Comes complete with 31" bucket, 24" Trencher(works but could use some work), Auger power head with 6" 12" 18" bits, 36"X18" leveler/carry all, Tiller, Trailer mover, and more on a 4X8 custom single axle trailer.
