Looking for help with 1999 JD 250 skid steer. The parking brake won't release, this locks out the drive and bucket hydraulics. Have tested and by passed the seat switch and the seat belt switch, replaced the park brake switch, still no movement. My 250 won't let the park brake disconnect. Have checked all switchs. It will start and will let the hyd. bucket go up and down and tilt but won't let park loose. Both the seat and the seatbelt switchs test ok. What else can I check? Thanks
Customer: I have a John Deere 317 Skid Steer. The park brake doesn't seem to disengage and I can't raise of lower the bucket or move forward or backward. I have checked the park brake solenoid and it tested ok under 10 ohms. The solenoid tester lit up on the bench testing. There is a solenoid (mine is under the hydraulic filter on the back right) that releases or sets the parking brake. (not sure which) This little valve that allows hydraulic fluid to the brake mechanism can jam with the smallest of "material" aka. pieces of metal.
