The chains should be less than drum tight, i.e. some deflection is necessary to avoid bearing damage. The 400 series loaders go by turn of wheel for chain slack, calling for approximately 1/4" of wheel turn at the treads. hi has anyone had experiance adjusting the drive and clutch chains on the M610,did it all as the book stated but then couldnt get the side covers back on, one clutch "shaft"( the part the cap screws on too) on each side is out by maybe 1.5 - 2 mm, didnt want to force it and damage the threads.
