If the "socket" where your tapered pins are supposed to seat is beat up as bad as your old pins were, then you probably have to replace the "socket/weld-in/weld-on bushing". It was a fairly easy procedure.
Use a punch to knock the tapered piece out of the tapered bushing that is now welded into the arm. Presto, new tapers in perfect alignment. No, they are not threaded, a bolt runs through the middle of them and holds them into their taper which is welded to the ends of the skid loader boom, and the quick tatch pivots on them. About the only thing I know to do, to get the taper back is to shorten the taper end of the pin.
